The Young Scientific Leadership Program<\/h1>\n

The program was designed to nurture leadership among Arab-Bedouin youth in the Negev and expose and attract school-age students to Science and Technology.<\/h3>\n

The program enables youth to develop leadership skills while serving their community
\nTamar Center\u2019s Young Scientific Leadership Program<\/span>\u00a0is run in collaboration with Beit Yatziv, the Ministry of Education, and the local Municipalities<\/span><\/p>\n

  4. Encourage excellence in science and technology among young counselors so that they pursue academic degrees in science and technology<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Expose and attract elementary school students to the field of science and technology through youth leadership<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Program Framework<\/h3>\n

    Through\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>program high school students are trained to open tutoring groups for elementary school students in their local towns and villages in STEM subjects.<\/span><\/p>\n

    The multi-year program earns the high school students who participate in<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>it a Bagrut Certificate in Community Service.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span>The high-school students will receive\u00a0<\/span>over 130\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0hours of training throughout the year \u2013 they began their training this summer through an intensive camp.\u00a0<\/span>The students carry out their volunteer hours as part of the 922-Etgarim \u201cOgen Kehilati\u201d informal education structure that takes place in the regional councils.<\/span><\/p>\n
